Vibe Coding: 13x Faster Development is the New Reality
By Volodymyr Gutorov | 2025-08-14

The Dawn of Vibe Coding
Just today, I built the MVP for our company landing page — https://neonvil.com — in just 3 hours.
How? By pairing my engineering skills with an AI coding agent.
In the “good old days,” a similar landing page built from scratch would have easily taken 25 hours of development, plus another 10–15 hours of design work.
Is the result perfect? For this stage — it's enough.
Can it be better? Of course.
Do I like it? A resounding YES.
Why so much positivity? Because I spent a total of 3 hours. Compared to the ~40 hours it would have taken traditionally, the development was nearly 13× faster.
This is a clear example of incredible price‑to‑value.
Beyond the Landing Page: A Real‑World Test
Skeptics might say this is just the tip of the iceberg for “vibe coding.”
So here’s another example.
A real project of mine — an automated AI agent crawler, written in Python and deployed on my local GPU machine.
This agent pipelines LLM, OCR, and TTI (Text‑to‑Image) with a decision‑making approach.
I spent a total of 40 hours building this agent, which I can run locally on my GPU using a public model. I even created a complete blog for it.
Here’s the kicker:
I did this without any sophisticated coding agent, just using a local Llama model.
In the real world, such a complex MVP could take up to 200 hours and still face the same theoretical hurdles I did.
This is another case where vibe coding boosts development, saving immense time and money.
It's Not the Model, It's the Method
From my latest observations, GPT‑5 is frankly disappointing for its price.
I ran tests on my RAG systems, and previous GPT versions — as well as competitors like Gemini and Claude — performed better.
Would I use GPT‑5?
For me, it’s a “doesn’t matter” question.
Why?
Because I’ve realized that in my line of work, the name of the model doesn’t matter as much as people think.
In most aspects, they are functionally similar.
So why is everyone frustrated, and I’m not?
Because I know how to organize work and provide clear, actionable goals.
The secret to leveraging AI in development isn’t about having the “best” model — it’s about having the vision and structure to guide it effectively.
That’s the essence of vibe coding.
